1955	Rend Lake Conservancy District was formed to work toward the procurement of an area water supply.
1965	Rend Lake construction was authorized by federal government as a Corps of Engineers project.
1971	Construction of the lake and dam was completed, Inner City Water System started supplying water to 55 municipalities in Southern Illinois.
1976	18 hole golf course was constructed.
1979	Rend Lake trap facility was completed.
1991	Rend Lake Resort was constructed by State of Illinois.
1994	Golf course was expanded to 27 holes, Seasons Resort Hotel was constructed at the golf course.
1995	SHooting complex added sporting clays to skeet and trap shooting facilities
1996	500-arce hunting complex opened near shooting complex
